This is Kimberly Panfil’s fourth year at Birdville High School, but she is no stranger to teaching and directing for the stage. Prior to teaching at BHS, sh taught at North Richland Middle School, also in Birdville ISD. At NRMS, she led a successful theatre arts department and featured an advanced Select theatre arts program. Their department earned Superior ratings each year at the BISD Middle School One-Act Play Fest. She has also received the “First Year Teacher Excellence Award for Middle School” from the Birdville Independent School District.
At BHS, Mrs. Panfil (or Pan) proudly leads the acting/ advanced acting portion of the theatre department. In addition to directing the fall productions, she also directs the UIL One-Act Play and serves as the Technical Director for the BHS Musicals. During the 2017-2018 season, the BHS Musical Mary Poppins was nominated and won 6 categories: Best Costume Design, Best Orchestra, Best Supporting Actress, Best Actress, Best Actor, and Best Musical! The UIL One-Act Play 33 Variations advanced to Region and during it’s run picked up several All-Star Cast and Best Actress awards. What an amazing season!
She received her BFA in Theatre Arts from Tarleton State University in Stephenville, Texas. While attending TSU, she enjoyed working on and off the stage. In addition to directing, designing, participating on tech crew, and performing in main-stage productions and musicals, she served as a feature performer with the IMPROV @ Tarleton Troupe.
She served an internship in Hebron, CT at Easter Seals Camp Hemlocks as their theatre director/ camp counselor. She also obtained an internship with Circle Theatre in downtown Fort Worth and later served as their resident House Manager.
Pan loves her StageHawk family and looks forward to the upcoming season!
