Our Spring Break trip to NYC was
March 11 - 16, 2011. It was a wonderful trip!
We
saw the Broadway productions of ANYTHING GOES, ARCADIA, and BILLY ELLIOTT. Saw the Statue of Liberty, toured NYC's famous
movie and tv sites, saw the Guggenheim Museum, The Metropolitan Museum, Times Square, The Museum of Natural History, the original
Macy's, the Wall Street area, saw Federal Hall (where George Washington took the oath of office), the Wall Street Bull, walked
on the Brooklyn Bridge at night, saw the infamous Asch Building...otherwise known as the Triangle Shirtwaist Factory!
We ate at the Magnolia Bakery, went to Madame Toussaud's, toured Radio City Music Hall and got a picture with a Rockette,
toured NBC Studios, saw Rockefeller Center, and looked over NYC at night from the Empire State Building. We shopped
5th Avenue, and saw St. Patrick's Cathedral, Grand Central Station, the Plaza Hotel, and Central Park. Finally,
the kids participated in Broadway Classroom with members of BILLY ELLIOTT. Afterwards they had lunch, shopping, watched
Billy Elliott and participated in a Q & A with the cast. And, then...they saw Robin Williams signing autographs
as we headed towards Times Square...where it was New Year's Eve 2012 for a movie shoot - complete with confetti. Saw
Lea Michelle kissing Ashton Kutcher; Garry Marshall (the director), and heard that Robert DiNero and Bon Jovi were there
too! Others saw Glenn Close in FAO Schwarz and Taye Diggs in Tribeca. Awesome star sightings. Great Trip!!!
